Today I met with Mrs. Amidon for the last time. All in all, we discussed what I had learned throughout this experience and tied it back to the roles in the L Brands Company.
From the business world aspect, the main concept I learned about creating a business is that the success of a business is not solely based on the products, but also the emotional connection that the company's product and name gives the consumers. In addition, the success of a business is reliant on the unity of all of its' workers. All roles in the company are important and without all of them working as a whole, the business would fail.
From Mrs. Amidon specifically, I learned that passion leads to success. Without passion, there is a lack of confidence, excitement, and work ethic. The individuals that are passionate about their careers aspire to achieve their goals no matter how large the obstacles to get to them are. This ultimately leads to success, whether it be personally or as part of a business.
In addition, I discussed my future choices of colleges with her and she helped me realize what qualities I should look for in a college and future career. Before my senior year, I plan to go on a college road trip with my father to visit some of my top choices. I will use what I have learned to help decide which college I would like to attend, as well as which major I would like to choose in order to pursue my career. I am undecided about a specific career, but I am currently looking towards something in business, math, or engineering. I look forward to learning about what I am capable of and what my interest are in order to prepare me for college.
